The Healthify was founded in 2022 by GPs practising in both the NHS and the private sector. During the pandemic we were issuing COVID travel certificates and fitness-to-fly documentation in significant volume — work that had moved online almost entirely, and very quickly.
Two things became clear over that period. Patients were entirely comfortable receiving properly governed medical documentation remotely, and the documents that caused the most difficulty were those carrying precise administrative requirements. Post-Brexit visa certificates for Spain and Greece were the clearest example of both.
Since the United Kingdom left the European Union, British citizens applying for long-stay visas to Spain and Greece have been required to provide a Medical Certificate of Good Health: a document worded to a specific international standard and signed by a doctor whose signature the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office recognises. It occupies a single page, but the requirements behind it are exact — the certificate must cite the International Health Regulations 2005, be issued on official letterhead, carry the signing doctor's GMC number, and come from an FCDO-registered signatory so that it can be legalised by apostille. Individual consulates then have their own expectations of format and wording.
So we narrowed our focus to that work. In the years since, we have issued thousands of certificates — COVID and travel documentation in the early period, and today Medical Certificates of Good Health for individuals relocating to Spain, Greece and Thailand. We work with private applicants, with relocation and immigration firms, and with businesses moving staff overseas.
We remain a deliberately small, specialist team, which is very much the point. When a consulate updates its requirements, we hear of it from our own patients within days and can respond immediately — something considerably harder for a large general practice, where this document forms a minor part of the workload.
This is our only focus
We don't run a general clinic alongside this. Visa and travel medical documentation is the whole business, which is why we know the difference between what Spain accepts and what Greece insists on.

An online appointment with the GP who puts their name and registration number on your document. They hear your history in your own words, answer whatever you want to ask, and you know exactly who assessed you. This is part of the standard fee, not a premium tier.

We do not also write sick notes, gym cancellations or fitness-to-cruise letters. Relocation health certification is the entire business, which is why we can tell you what Athens expects that Madrid does not.
Authorities publish forms. We fill them in
Athens and Bangkok each issue a template with their own boxes, clauses and declarations. We work on those originals rather than approximating them on our own headed paper.
